Rules for Nominalizing Causal Sentences

We replace the causal clause with a noun phrase using prepositions such as:

wegen + Genitiv → because of
aufgrund + Genitiv → due to
infolge + Genitiv → as a consequence of
dank + Genitiv/Dativ → thanks to

Special Cases: Using “aus” or “vor” + Noun
